Wear blue marker

One of Andrew Sullivan's readers suggests that we all wear blue ink on our index fingers as a sign of solidarity with Iraq's voters. Done. I'd put up a photo, but my camera battery is drained.

Of course, the womenfolk could just paint a single nail blue and send the same message and be stylin' all at the same time.

I'm not so down on Sullivan as many other bloggers, left and right. He catches an enormous amount of grief from both left and right, some of which is a function of sloppy reasoning and some of which is the feeling on both sides that he has somehow betrayed them. As a result, his readers are more diverse in their political views than those of most other bloggers. He counts among his readers die-hard hawks and full-blown anti-American peaceniks.

True, I get tired of the persistent focus on gay rights, but I do not blame him for blogging about what interests him. I blog about what interests me, after all. I also think that he goes wobbly from time to time, but some of that derives from his willingness to challenge his own thinking, which few bloggers do as a matter of course.

Anyway, I think the blue ink idea is a good one, and I'm running with it!

Er, so I guess you're not going to wear the blue ink...:)
