The most petulant op-ed column ever 

Maureen Dowd stamps her feet, screams at her readers, and slams the door on the way out. Her column this morning is perhaps the most petulant, peevish, childish column I have read on those pages in quite some time. I'm just saying.

Where's the fake turkey mention? Haliburton? Obligatory frat boy sneer? Drug/drinking reference? Jeez, if she's going to melt down, she ought to get everything in there.

She appears not to know that the phrase “checks and balances” applies to the designated powers of government not to either partisan balance in government or the self-appointed (and relatively newly-found) role of the press as the second opposition.
