The lamest university propaganda in the history of the universe

As an alumnus or other affiliate of various institutions of higher learning, I am blessed to receive no end of holiday collegiate propaganda. Some of it can be very evocative -- Princeton produces an annual video that can loosen even the tightest of alumni wallets. However, this video from the University of Michigan Law School is, I'm sorry to say, the single lamest piece of university propaganda in the history of the universe.

Lame indeed. Couldn't they have gotten some footage of Ann Coulter in a Socratic class? That must have been something.

Honestly. What that strummin' soundtrack says is "We're a bunch of rubes, please don't take us seriously." Wouldn't Warren Zevon's "Lawyers, Guns and Money" have set the proper tone? And would it kill them to wear a suit? If I have to shave and get dressed up when they haul me before the judge, my lawyer damn well better have something better to put on than something off the discount rack at Land's End.

OMG - some 13 year old with a guitar butchering Stairway To Heaven on YouTube is better than that.

'Hokie,' is what comes to mind.

Actually, I though it was kind of nice.

Oops! I meant I THOUGHT it was kind of nice....

Lame. Everyone looks like a Sears catalog model reject.

TERRIBLE.

I did a post-doc at UM in early 2000 and knew some law students. Show me what the UM law students want to see - the dirty UM college bars. At the very least, a shot of Dominick's.

Here's the one from my alma mater, the Kellogg Graduate School of Management. Since they are known best for their marketing prowess, it's a great example of the right way to do this. It sure made me want to give! http://alumni.kellogg.northwestern.edu/giving/MakeADifference.htm

You mean law students don't wear a suit and tie to class all the time? I'm shattered.

Geez, they look just like medical students.
