Harry Reid lives up to Dennis Miller's expectations

We who thought that Dennis Miller stepped beyond the bounds of decorum -- however hilariously -- when he hammered Harry Reid may want to reconsider our position.

What a weenie.

For Harry Reid - a corrupt and vile do-nothing coward of the first order, to have the staggering...what word captures it? Stupidity? Ignorance? Vacuity? To call General Pace "incompetent" is idiotic. Reid could make several assertions which could highlight their differences on matters of policy. He could even suggest Pace has been wrong on some matters. Fine. But incompetent? Are you kidding me? He's a General in the USMC. Not some half ass debate major who sits in a big white building on a hill. He's got a chest full of medals which are testimony to his
"competence" while under rather extreme duress -- getting shot at.

Reid is an idiot. And now he is demonstrating that he doth protest to much -- he is the incompetent here -- and he is making me rather more optimistic about the prospects of a return to conservative leadership all around.

Weenie...Weenie?

You need to get out more or something.

I can't even type what he is. The human language may have the words to describe him, but I'm just a redneck and can't put them together where they would do him justice.

Jeez

But he supports the troops, TigerHawk. Really, he does. He has the utmost respect for the military .

Excuse me while I throw up.

If someone on the right had made such a derogatory comment, the media and lefty bloggers would be all over it.

I await the inevitable media firestorm with.... ummm...

Yeah. Back to work.

If the Senate Republicans had an ounce of character they would seek to censure Reid ad the Congressional Republicans should do the same to Pelosi.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at Thu Jun 14, 03:54:00 PM:

Harry Reid as vile as they can get the demacratic donkey deserves the firing squad and dont bother with a blindfold and dont bother waiting till dawn do it now

By Anonymous Anonymous, at Thu Jun 14, 04:07:00 PM:

I despise Reid. He strikes me as a weak figure who is trying to demagogue this issue when he ought to know better.

By Blogger Dawnfire82, at Thu Jun 14, 07:54:00 PM:

Though to be honest, I prefer that to a strong figure trying to demagogue this issue when he knows better. If this is the best that the Democrats can do for congressional leadership, I think we'll be smelling a Republic revival in the winds.

And why hasn't anyone yet brought up how Syria, which Pelosi just visited and said nice things about, just assassinated a Lebanese member of parliament?

Wow! After hearing that Dennis Miller rant I'm starting to fall in love. Or at least, in like.

The whole government is screwed up.

Here is something that will annoy many conservatives:

The Voice of America has a big story (14 June) on CAIR, logo and all. The headline:

"American Muslim Group Says Anti-Muslim Discrimination on Rise in US"

link:

Yep. Voice of America. Your tax money at work.

Harry Reid is nothing ore than a contemptible little sock puppet under the direct control of Chuck Schumer and Dick"The Turban" Durbin. What a detestable excuse for Congressional leadership!

By Blogger Gordon Smith, at Thu Jun 14, 11:36:00 PM:

Where's the source?

Bloggers on the call are saying he never said that. This looks like a made-up story.

By Blogger Gordon Smith, at Thu Jun 14, 11:42:00 PM:

I'm wrong. Reid confirmed it.

By Blogger Enlighten-NewJersey, at Thu Jun 14, 11:46:00 PM:

From Bob Geiger, a blogger who claims to have been on the call with Reid:

Here's exactly what Reid said:

"I guess the president, uh, he's gotten rid of Pace because he could not get him confirmed here in the Senateā€¦ Pace is also a yes-man for the president and I told him to his face, I laid it out to him last time he came to see me, I told him what an incompetent man I thought he was."

By Blogger Gordon Smith, at Fri Jun 15, 12:00:00 AM:

So Reid told Petraeus to his face...

Judging from how Petraeus' assessment of Iraq isn't squaring with the facts, it looks like Reid might be right.

By Blogger Cassandra, at Fri Jun 15, 01:18:00 AM:

Ummm... what "facts", specifically, are you referring to Screwy?

And what "assessment"? Petraeus, contrary to all the BS you people keep throwing out, has CONSISTENTLY said IT'S TOO EARLY TO OFFER ANY ASSESSMENT ON THE SURGE.

Unlike, of course, Senator Reid who has no problem announcing "it's a failure" before we even have all the troops in place.

Brilliant. Just brilliant. May I question his patriotism now?

Or just which side he is on? The man was told that he couldn't expect to see any results until we had all the troops in place and the plan had actually been fully implemented and working for a few months. This sounds suspiciously like common sense. When you try a new plan you don't pronounce it a failure before you've fully implemented it. That is, unless of course you have a vested interest in undermining it.

Funny Screwy. All those liberal bloggers said Reid never said what he finally admitted he did say.

Kind of makes you wonder about their objectivity, doesn't it? And he didn't call Petraeus incompetent. He just insinuated that he's a liar.

He called Pace incompetent. But hey, all those military types look alike, don't they? Marines, Army? Chairman of the Joint Chief, Commander of MNF-Iraq... what the hay? Warmongers.

Sheesh.

People with 18% approval ratings are in no position to whine about competence.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at Fri Jun 15, 09:10:00 AM:

Many presidents, including FDR had very low approval ratings.

I understand sampling and how you can write a questionairre/poll to get your desired answer. I'm not happy with Bush for a lot of things, but he's right about this war.

Trumpeting an approval rating is like using the Consumer Reports as your guide for shopping. The ratings are largely from the unwashed who buy the mainstream products. Similarly, if 82% disapprove of you, that only picks up the first deviation of the average unwashed schmo, plus the tail of the "less than average" all the way down to the retarded. And it leaves a few percent for the righteously indignant leftists whining about whatever it is they whine about.

In contrast to my opinions on Cops the other day, here's a few guys in uniform (the generals) I RESPECT for wearing it, and whose opinion I care about. He should've simply used one of the left retired or active generals to support his position.

Called them incompetent is just absurd.

By Blogger Cardinalpark, at Fri Jun 15, 09:14:00 AM:

SH - thank you for your perfect reaction. It couldn't have been better really.

First, your brain reacts properly; here's what the bubble above your head has in it -- "Reid can't possibly have said that; it's too stupid and absurd; these wingnuts must be making it up."

Then, oh sh*t - "Um, Reid confirmed; oh golly"

Then, partisanship kicks in - "Well golly, Reid must be right after all..."

Clown...

By Blogger Cassandra, at Fri Jun 15, 11:38:00 AM:

Oh, it gets better CP. Head over to TPM Cafe. They are falling all over themselves trying to convince each other that Reid really meant to insult Bush or Gonzalez despite the fact that Harry has admitted saying it.

Got bias? Heck - we don't need no stinking facts!
