A "tigerhawk" of a different sort

To be clear, when I decided to use "TigerHawk" as my nom de plume, this is not the image I wanted to conjure:

Thanks to regular commenter "Dr. Mercury" for tracking this down.

Don't be silly. It's exactly how we had you pictured.

We...we thought you knew!

Side note to any graphic artists in the audience: it'd be cool to see a hawk's head on a tiger's body, something along the lines of this. Can do?

Hawk, can I offer up something completely off-topic? I have a rather heartening note after last night's Dem debate. I noted it on Michelle's site this morning, but I think it was something like Comment #3,537, so it probably got lost in the shuffle.

Fark.com is a links site to oddball articles. It's actually a great little site, but, unfortunately, it's run by some left-wing moonbat who uses every chance he gets to knock the Bush Administration and the war in Iraq in his little mini-descriptions for each link.

He also has little icons denoting which category it goes under, like "Asinine", "Cool", "Interesting", etc. Next to the Olbermann rants he has "Hero".

And, of course, the core reader base is decidedly left-wing, to the point where any Republican in the readership is called a "troll".

Got the picture?

So, I didn't pay any attention to the Dem debate last night, but later on in the evening I drifted by Fark.com and noticed he had a comments section live-blogging the debate. Although I rarely, rarely read left-wing stuff, I held my breath and decided to take a peek.

They were savaging them.

And I don't mean your little pansy-ass savaging, I mean the heavy-duty, industrial-strength stuff. They couldn't decide which was more insipid, the questions or the answers. Calling the YouTube video questions "moronic" was about as nice as it got.

A few kudos were handed out when someone really nailed something, but 95% of it was ridicule, mockery and scorn. Throw "disgust" into the mix while you're at it.

There was no question the group was enamored with Gravel, agreeing that he was both equally brilliant and a total nut case.

Obama came off as full of fluff, constantly twisting the question so as to answer with a pre-rehearsed script on some personal talking point.

Hillary came off as being WAY too rah-rah, acting like she was at a Hillary Rally. I believe she got one kudo for 'answering a question strongly'.

Nobody said much about Edwards. Once they tore their eyes away from Obama and Hill, they could only talk about how brilliant/insane Gravel was.

By the end of the debate, the forum's consensus was pretty-much Gravel/Paul in '08. :)

More than once, one of the old regulars said something like, "If this is all we've got to offer, we're doomed!"

So I thought that was pretty good news. Here's a hard-core group of Lefties mocking the hell out of their own candidates.

Here's the link. I read through about 450 comments (till the end of the debate) and had a great time. Some of the comments are extremely witty and clever, and I actually ended up feeling kinda sorry for these guys. It's one thing to want the other party to lose, but you want them to go down with honor.

Any notions of honor drifted away from the democrat party about the same time I did back in the late 70's early 80's.

I don't know--I think it is an interesting photo. But more apt with your brown-shirted commenters. Think of if: small, snarling, and with the thinnest of legs to stand on...

Oh and Doc--what's a moonbat? Is that like "wingnut?" Aside from "dickless" that's our moniker for you. can't repeat what we use for Malkin in polite company. Where does all this snarky, almost evil hatred come from? Did you grow up in some town without dancing like in Footloose? Common ground, cooperation, a united spirit, dude--i thought that was America?
