Snow falling on palm trees

It is snowing in the Holy Land:

A woman walks in the Old City during a snow storm in Jerusalem January 30, 2008. Jerusalem and its holy sites were covered in a blanket of snow on Wednesday.

Snow fell on Baghdad three weeks ago, and Israel, Palestine, and Jordan today. Lots of it:
In Ramallah, residents were surprised to see snow when they awoke. For some, it was their first time.

"I am just astonished with the snow. When I saw the snow this morning, I felt happy, my heart was laughing," said Mary Zabaro, 17.

In Amman, where a foot of snow fell, children used inflatable tubes as sleds. Some roads were temporarily closed.

Snow covered most mountain villages and blocked roads in Lebanon. The storm disrupted power supplies in most Lebanese towns and villages, exacerbating existing power cuts. Parts of the Beirut-Damascus highway were closed.

Doesn't God know He is screwing with the political will to do something about global warming?

UPDATE: Are greenhouse gases protecting us against a cooling sun?

TH:

Please... you should now by now that, as with all good propagandists, the message changes to suit the moment. It is climate change, and snow in Baghdad and Jerusalem meets their definition.

The billions of Gorebots do not care that the wording has changed. The average government doesn't care, as it sees the movement as a way to get more centralised control, and the rest do not matter.

Davod has it perfectly correct. If it is unusually cold, that indicates Global Climate Change caused by Evil Rich Humans pumping too much CO2 into the atmosphere. If it is unusually hot, that indicates Global Warming caused by Evil... well, you know.

I have to wonder; Are Bird of Paradise and Christopher Chambers the same guy, just posting flip sides of crazy?

By Anonymous Anonymous, at Thu Jan 31, 01:23:00 PM:

Don't think so - Chambers is a clown who can spell.

By Blogger Charlottesvillain, at Thu Jan 31, 03:21:00 PM:

The Bird likes to USE ALL CAPS a lot, while Chambers's best comments usually feature a "Ha ha ha!"

Hey it's snowing on Mauna Kea in Hawaii right now.

Bird of Paradise is a bird. Haven't you noticed the "squawk squawk" comments?

The bird uses all caps a lot because he has to type with his beak. If you think that's easy, try typing with your nose.

Why are conservatives always so pleased by their own stupidity?

If the weather goes to unusual extremes, as you yourself say, then the climate has changed, has it not? It's true that cold weather does not dovetail nicely with the slogan about "global warming", but science is not conducted by slogans. Your comments are meaningless, to the extent they can be taken seriously at all - but you pile on, one after the other, with mindless repetitions of the same Beavis-'n-Butthead-level commentary ("It snowed! They said 'warming'! Huhuhuhuh!!").

If you want anyone other than yourselves to believe you are actually contributing to the debate over climate change, learn something about it (for instance, that the word "change" encompasses deviations downward as well as upward, or that local weather is not the same as global climate, or, hell, anything that is actually included in the theory itself). Say things that make sense. Stop being mesmerized like children by a single snowfall and try to understand large-scale trends at the large scale. Basically, stop being yourselves and become someone smarter and less ignorant.

Take a PR course, Mr. Keith.

Kevin T. Keith: "science is not conducted by slogans."

Apparently it is conducted by insults.

So I'm curious as to why the editors and publishers of Nature and Science are not onto this Piltdown Man of a global warming scam. Are all of the scientific journals of the world in cahoots with the liberal crazies?
