Pictures from Frankfurt

The old Frankfurt Opera House, earlier this afternoon:

Old Frankfurt Opera House

Take a close look at the sculpture over the entrance. That's one intimidating woman. Only a German would put something like that on a building.

What is this wall all about?

Take a closer look at rectangular features...

And, finally, the old and the new.

Very nice pics, and I'm glad someone else has had the same fun & excitement in searching for an electrical outlet...

The "wall" pic? It's a Holocaust memorial. IIRC, over 10K names, representing known Frankfurt Jews killed.

In addition to those at the main Holocaust memorial, there are a number of Stolpersteine (http://www.stolpersteine.com/ ) scattered around the city, marking the former addresses of Frankfurt's Holocaust victims.
