A holiday appeal from Wikipedia

Wikipedia, which is both non-profit and free of advertising, is looking for a corner of your charitable giving this year. Founder Jimmy Wales makes the case here. I think that Wikipedia is a wonderful resource, shortcomings notwithstanding, and kicked in a few bucks. Consider doing the same.

I disagree. Although Wikipedia is useful for non-political trivia, it is infused with liberal and left-wing slurs that are impossible to remove. It is a propoganda site. Liberals love it.

dfp21 - I disagree with you and agree with TH. If you don't like what's written there, and have cred to write it better, then get in there and write. It's open to anyone.

I use Wikipedia almost daily - always taking what I read there with a grain of salt. Since it looks like they're struggling to meet this year's budget, and they only have a paid staff of 23, I made my second donation just now.

It's a real bargain in my opinion.

TLW: well, when you see pages like http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joseph_mccarthy
it is helpful to know about

Somewhere in there, the biases cancel.
For the most part, though, Wikipedia is useful.
