Social justice question of the day

Is it actually sensible or, for that matter, kind to cultivate a taste for Beluga caviar among the poor? Either they will not like it -- caviar is, after all, something of an acquired taste -- or they will. The first result is only wasteful, but the second is quite possibly cruel. Or, perhaps, one opportunity to eat Beluga in a lifetime is better than none. What say you?

Well...while it may be more practical to give the poor something they will definitely like as opposed to something they might not like, plus I'm wondering why caviar is illegal there in the first place, at least the poor are getting something, which is better than nothing. Nobody objected when Scrooge gave Bob Crachit a giant prize turkey in A Christmas Carol , right?
