The homeless kids nonsense

One of Barack Obama's pre-selected softball pitches questioners at the press conference last night was Ebony's reporter, Kevin Chappell, who asserted that one American child in 50 is homeless. President Obama did not dispute the claim in his rambling answer, but at least some viewers, including the always sharp Mrs. TH, immediately called BS. Turns out she was right on the money.

Msybe the reason the Black press award was was not open to the regular press was because Obama was giving the Black press their marching orders (Questions).

Yes, but my immediate thought was that this should be the number that Republicans use for the rest of the Obama administration.

Dan Rather had a segment on the Evening News during the Reagan administration in which the guest said that Reagan's policies created 3 million homeless. The number was clearly BS, and no attempt was ever made to substantiate it, but it stuck.

For the next four years, Republicans should claim that "Obama's policies have forced one child in fifty to live under a bridge."

Watching the press conference was heartwrenching. Our financial system is lurching from self-inflicted crisis to self-inflicted crisis, our allies are being actively aliented, our enemies are being accomodated, our borders are open to criminals, our constitution is at risk and our economy is under daily Congressional assault. Not a single question of substance addressed these questions, not one excepting Jake Tappert's attempt to talk about the undermining of fiscal sanity.

Taxes may be the least of our problems before this is finished.
