ACORN updates

Ace has been all over this, but here are some relevant links.

The IRS announced that it is severing ties with ACORN.

Barney Frank changes his position, asking that ACORN be de-funded, as compared to how the Wall Street Journal characterized his stance this morning.

ACORN is suing the undercover movie makers. Predictions: a big bunch o' money raised for a defense fund, and the suit is dropped before discovery proceeds very far. Somehow, I don't think the leftover funds will be used to throw a kegger. If you strike me down...

I don't understand why the ACORN defense hasn't much more vocal and why any democrat has been critical.
Every inner city politician owes ACORN big time. They bring out supporters and surpress the opposition. The dems will continue to need what ACORN does before and at election time next year especially in places like Philadelphia, Ohio, Indiana and Chicago.
You'd think every member of the Congressional Black Caucus would be screaming "racism" at the top of their lungs. The fact that they re not is puzzling.

I figure that they figure it's a lost cause. The White House and various executive agencies can't jettison ACORN fast enough; why would the 'troops' in the House risk the chopping block for a doomed ally?

I agree with Escort that a defense fund will raise big money- just look at Cong. Joe "You Lie!" Wilson; he was able to raise over $2 million in the week after his unfortunate outburst. There are lots of people who want to see politicians play "guts ball'. More than I can ever remember; and I think every time Obama or Pelosi get on TV or introduce some new revolutionary idea, the number of people wanting to see the Dems taken down a notch or three expands.
