The last refuge of the unimaginative

Oscar Wilde wrote that "consistency is the last refuge of the unimaginative." Perhaps that aphorism would explain the unfortunate consistency in Democratic geopolitics.

Secretary Albright had better hope that something was lost in translation. What a strange series of statements to make overseas.

Maybe, TigerHawk, the next time Secretary Albright speaks on campus at Princeton, you can ask her another question (as you did before), giving her a chance to clarify her remarks.

Who knows, maybe President Tilghman of Princeton will come down to Philly and give a speech at Penn and say that Princeton no longer intends to try and be the top university in the country.

Obama's foreign policy is bad news for the world.

"Now even the IAEA is making him look like an a-hole. That’s pretty bad. On the very day when he makes his big peace-in-our-time Neville Chamberlain chess move."

How he has any supporters left at all is beyond me. Even stubborn people have to act out of self interest at some point, if not self preservation!

"Consistency is the last refuge of the unimaginative." . . .

You mean like those who favor so-called "original intent" as their Constitutional interpretive theory?

Actually, F&M, the Constitution is nothing more than a set of rules. If one makes the rules malleable (like the Massachessets legislature) then they REALLY aren't rules at all, are they?

I prefer Ralph Waldo's definition of a "foolish" consistency as the "hobgoblin of little minds".

Democrats are certainly besieged with hobgoblins nowadays.
