A movie I like

The TH Daughter and I are having a quiet evening at home watching Across the Universe, which is an enormously creative film (and not just because some of it was shot on Princeton's campus). Give it a go if you have a free evening.

I downloaded the soundtrack onto my iPod to play in the OR and, unfortunately, found it somewhat annoying...a series of really bad covers of good songs.

Maybe the movie is better...I'll add it to my stream list on Netflix.

The soundtrack would not be better than the originals. The cool part is the weaving of the Beatles songs in to a period piece around a very difficult time for this country.

Their version of She's So Heavy is better, because it tells the same musical ideas in half as long. Most of Dana Fuchs's songs are good, While My Guitar Gently Weeps is good, the bad ones are mostly Hold Me Tight, For The Benefit of Mr. Kite, It Won't Be Long, and some of "Jude's" covers.
