News you can use: What not to say to your boss 


If you are one of my children, you have never had an official job. Please read this (and bookmark it for future reference) before you set sail in to the real world, for it is truth.

"It can't be done."

I would always tell them, "If it's going to happen, it's not going to be within the time frame you want."

If a boss doesn't like that reply, it is the sign of a piss poor boss.

The good Lord gave bosses two ears and one mouth so they can listen twice as much as they give orders.

This would be a good instance for the boss to ask "why?" and then listen.

"It can't be done." is just another form of disagreement. A good boss wants underlings' reasoning and opinions, and will allow them to argue their points without fear of retribution. A good boss does not want 'yes men'.
