Chris Christie hunts the NJEA

If you, like me, think that the teachers unions are one of the big reasons why our monopoly public schools deliver unacceptable results at too high a cost (a standard that liberals embrace when talking about health care, but curiously not education), the latest shot from New Jersey Governor Chris Christie will send a thrill up your leg.

Wow. So this is what a political war sounds like, huh.

...the latest shot from New Jersey Governor Chris Christie...

Who'da thunk it?

Christie has more testicular fortitude than Arnold.

Screw the NJEA and the horse's ass they have become. Talk about a bloated wasteful mess. And while were at it, can we go after the superintendents who are double and triple dipping on their pensions?

Don't forget, the polls are open until 9:00 pm tonight.

Or, as they say in Chicago, vote early and vote often.

And remember, the NJEA is probably a bigger threat to your kids than you are...

I had no idea today was election day for the school budget. Of course, I do travel a lot but still, has this been publicized at all? Even a little bit? I'm embarrassed.

Check out the Princeton Schools web page. In their electioneering, they link to (and ask you to click) on a site labeled "Information from our children", and claim it "is their web site". The children put the linked site on line? Clever kids!

Of course the children think the teachers derserve a fully funded budget too. This is a scandal; the page is obviously the work of the union and it's being pushed by the school board. This really stinks, just as the Governor was saying.

I admire his strategy. Grab the bull by the tail, knowing full well he's not only going to get dirty, but he's going to get the living daylights kicked out of him and, in the end, he may not get all he wants out of the NJEA, but he'll come away with a lot of good and they'll be licking their own wounds.
This is the first time I've had to stand in line to vote in a school budget election. A good sign, either way.

I hope California politicians are watching, and I hope we can find a west coast equivalent of Chris Christie!!!
