Thank you, PD. Americans are both hard-working and lucky compared to the rest of the world - no coincidence, in my book - and I've had more luck and worked harder than most. I would be the first to admit that I do not really know the proportionate contributions of luck and work to the success I have had, but any successful person is foolish to deny either factor.

So sorry to have missed your question, but I took my own advice and got going right after leaving my comment. Is it a good place? The answer depends entirely on the evening's band. It is a throwback tavern, serving burgers and meatloaf, soup and salad, and many kinds of primarily domestic beer. It's sort of like an American biker bar version of Conte's in respect to food and ambiance: simple and straightforward. It does offer music and that's why I go, since some friends have an old-guy band and they often play there. Uncomplicated beer and dancing.
They had a college football game on one TV in the corner of the bar, but I didn't see if it was the Iowa game.
