It bears remembering...

...that Jimmy Carter is not only a clown, but a dangerous clown.

Hard to believe that in 1976 we didn't realize that an evangelical peanut farmer would not be able to distinguish between his ideals and the real world.

On the other hand, he probably single-handily made the Reagan revolution electorally possible.

For this we must give thanks. Often.

I just had a bothersome thought. Our current president is in very much in the same liberal cast as Jimmy Carter. He is also quite young, loves giving speeches, and being the center of attention. What are the odds that either in 2 or 6 years, that he will go away, and quietly live out the rest of his life?

Send him a few boxes of Marlboro's.

Still the worst President ever.

For now.

Mr. Carter has likely realized that Obama has made him look slightly less like an incompetent ignoramus (at least in the relative sense)...and...this can do nothing but get better over the next two years.

He is thus emboldened.

Expect another book.

I was there during the "great national malaise", was happy to get the 12 1/2% interest rate on our first home and hear the daily updates on the Iranian hostages (who were wisely released the day Reagan was inaugurated).

He was a well meaning buffoon....as opposed to the malignant buffoon in office now.

He was a well meaning buffoon....

Given that he continues to insist, despite all available evidence, the Norks and Palestinians are the innocent/injured parties in every instance, I'm not ready to give him the benefit of that characterization. Except, of course, to heartily agree that he is very much indeed the buffoon.

Yeah, I think the statute of limitations on buffoonery and "well-meaning" is about 2 years. Which means, he stopped being well-meaning and started being dangerous around 1978.

Confirmation: the Norwegians voted him a Nobel peace prize.

Good point, sirius.

I can kind of understand why Democrats are popular with African-Americans despite the party's long history of racism...at least there is a financial benefit.

I can't for the life of me understand what it is about the Democrat Party that appeals to American jews. There is no counter-balance to the rampant anti-Semitism.

Someone should tell him they don't have any programs for decent low-income housing.
