Beef for Christmas
Today, I gave the gift of steaks and burgers to one relative, and got some awesome sausage and cheese from another. Great food is a nice Christmas present in our much too-cluttered world, especially to people who are either particularly affluent or in financial distress. I eat tons and tons of beef, and those Omaha steaks are phenomenal; I've eaten them many times.
But when I can get entire NY Strips at Costco for 4.49/lb and cut them myself...well, the Omaha's frankly ain't that much better.
