Tigers and Longhorns

While I am not normally one to agree with the mainstream media, it is totally reasonable to ask whether "they even have breakfast tacos in Princeton?" The answer, by the way, is sadly "no."

The place behind Cox's used to do an awesome breakfast w/tacos, but I think they stopped serving b'fast due to lack of business, which was a tragedy since they were about 10X better than the usual suspects for breakie.

B McD. and TH-

It would be a tough sell at PJs and Lord knows the Nassau Inn is slow to move, but maybe Carousel could be convinced to add breakfast tacos.

One would think good, cheap Mexican food (Tex-Mex, Cal-Mex, whatever) would fly out the door in downtown Princeton.

Funny restaurant market in Princeton - has been like that for ages.

[Cosmic topical convergence: word verification request includes "Conte"]

Back in the day: it was Tampa, four to a room with a 20 hour drive down in rental cars. Not to mention a 20 hour run back for the beginning of Spring classes! And there were no breakfast tacos in Tampa. About the only thing there was, was the Stroh's brewery for tour on our afternoon off. Kreuz in Lockhart beats the heck out of any meal that we ever got. Although most of the oarsmen would probably gladly trade the BBQ for the beer! How times have changed, and don't even get me started about the luxury of flying down....

"(Tex-Mex, Cal-Mex, whatever)"

The former is vastly superior to the latter. When places in London and Shanghai want to sell Mexican food, they sell Tex-Mex.

Breakfast tacos? C'mon! There is no such thing as a breakfast taco. There are breakfast burritos, but not tacos. Or heuvos rancheros. Only some elite Ivy League bunch from a school that has a varsity rowing team would look for breakfast tacos.

And, hanging out at Whole Foods?

Effete!

Uh, there are "breakfast tacos" all over Austin. Restaurants, stands on the street, coffee shops, all have them.

Ahh, my mistake. I thought we were talking about the real Texas, not Austin. Do they put arugula on the breakfast tacos in Awstun?

By Blogger SR, at Wed Feb 02, 09:56:00 AM:

Love the euphemism. Eat enough breakfast tacos, and you too can advance from the lightweight women's crew to the "open weight."

His point was Awstun ain't Texas.

Then his point was wrong.

By the same argument about breakfast tacos, neither are Houston, Dallas, nor San Antonio.

But if you actually check out the links counted, the ones from Houston, Dallas, and San Antonio are making fun of Austin's breakfast tacos.
