Evening beer post

In recent years I have become quite taken by craft-brewed India Pale Ale, and almost always default to it when it is available on tap. There are several brands in my fridge.

So, you can imagine how much I enjoyed the Wikipedia entry on the subject.

On Tuesday I went to a nice little restaurant in SoHo which makes its own beer on the premises. Here's their beer menu:

Had lunch, and everything was good, particularly the Hefeweizen on a hot day.

I too love IPA, and have a couple of different brands on hand at all times. My kids aren't fans, which is why I can count on it still being there after a hot summer workout!

It is your good fortune to live within the market area of Dogfish Head Brewery in Delaware. Their 60-minute IPA remains the class standard for all IPAs for general drinking. The 90-minute IPA is more specialized, less versatile, and with its higher alcohol content generally less agreeable.

At the risk of creating dissension, I live in the Portland, Oregon area where we can pick from dozens of IPAs, mostly on tap, on any given day.

I have Dogfish Head 60 in the fridge, and much prefer it to the 90. My favorite IPA, though, is Stone, from San Diego. It is on tap in the Witherspoon Grill in Princeton, and a leading reason to hang at its bar.

Avery Maharaja. Just sayin'.

Tigerhawk,
If you find yourself in the Portland, OR area I would consider it an honor to introduce you to any of the fine brewing establishments on offer. It is a difficult chore, but one I would take on .

Perhaps if we locked the doors to the House and Senate, and threw in a dozen semi-trucks worth of IPA, we might get something useful out of them by Monday.

It couldn't possibly look worse than what they're going to produce anyway...

This is the first time I have visited your site and I am amazed at the amount, the value and the clarity of the information you have provided.

I like the Dogfish 90. I like the 60, too, don't get me wrong. But I do dig the 90 after a long day.

Thanks for the wikilink.

Victory (Philadelphia) Hop Devil is very good

Troegs (Harrisburg PA)Hop Back is excelent

My personal favorite right now is Founders Red Rye from Michigan. If you havn't tried it - seek it out. You won't be disapointed.
